The compounder

BEING FINDABLE

IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING SEEN.

Paid ads put you in front of people who were not looking. Local search catches the ones who already are, and it keeps working after the spend stops.

THIS IS NOT THE ENGINE.

IT IS WHAT MAKES THE ENGINE PERMANENT.

We will be straight with you about this, because most agencies are not.

Local SEO will not fill your dining room next month. Anyone who tells you it will is selling you something on a timeline they cannot hold. It moves slowly, it compounds, and the results arrive in months rather than weeks.

What it does is change what happens when somebody in your area picks up their phone at 6pm and types "restaurants near me." That person has already decided to eat out. They are not being persuaded, they are choosing. Every restaurant above you on that screen gets asked first.

So the ads buy you covers now, the follow-up keeps them, and this is the layer that means in eighteen months you are getting guests you never paid for.

THE MOST VALUABLE PAGE ABOUT YOUR RESTAURANT IS NOT YOUR WEBSITE.

It is your Google listing, and most owners have never really looked at theirs.

Hours that are wrong on a holiday. A category that says "restaurant" instead of what you actually cook. Photos taken by a guest in bad light in 2019. No menu attached. Half the attributes empty. Questions from the public sitting unanswered for a year.

That listing is what somebody sees before they ever reach your site, and for a lot of them it is the only thing they will see. We fix all of it, then keep it fed: posts, photos, the menu, hours that hold up through a holiday weekend, and answers to the questions people actually asked.

GOOGLE IS CHECKING WHETHER YOUR DETAILS AGREE WITH THEMSELVES.

Your name, address and phone number are sitting in dozens of directories, delivery platforms, listing sites and aggregators. Some of them have the suite number. Some have your old number. One of them has the restaurant you took the lease from.

Every disagreement is a small reason for Google to trust the listing less, and trust is what decides the ranking. So we find them, fix them, and keep them consistent.

It is unglamorous work. It is also the single most common thing wrong with a restaurant that cannot understand why it ranks below a worse restaurant two streets over.

The technical work

THE SEARCHES YOUR COMPETITORS ARE NOT TRYING FOR.

Everybody wants to rank for their own name and for the obvious one. The traffic that actually converts is further down: the dish, the occasion, the dietary need, the neighbourhood, the specific night.

Somebody searching for a place that can seat twelve for a birthday on a Friday has a much higher chance of walking in than somebody searching for "food." We build for those, because they are winnable and because the people typing them are ready.

Reviews are half of this

YOU CANNOT SEPARATE THE TWO.

Rating, review count, and how recently reviews arrived are three of the strongest things Google looks at when it decides who sits at the top of a local result.

Which means the review system and this are not two products. They are one loop, and running either alone is why most restaurants stall on both.

What you see

POSITION, NOT PROMISES.

Where you rank on the searches that matter, how that has moved, how many people found you without an ad behind them, and what that traffic did once it arrived.

Not a monthly PDF about domain authority. You have probably had one of those, or you have heard about them from someone who has.
